HEALING PROGRAMS

With the assistance of the Elders, Spiritual Advisors, and Liaison workers, our facilitators guide each participant through the sessions with compassion and understanding. We use knowledge and beliefs that incorporate Indigenous healing and wellness through a lived experience lens. These approaches use ceremonies, medicines, hands - on techniques, art, music and laughter.

In Search of your Warrior (male) and Spirit of a Warrior (female)

This intensive 40 day program designed by Native Counseling Services of Alberta (NCSA) immerses participants in a holistic healing approach that encompasses all aspects of the Medicine Wheel (ie: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual) with the emphasis on examining trauma, heal the scars of abuse, and gaining an understanding of the impacts of addictions, violence and criminal activity.

Mending Broken Hearts

The White Bison created program is an essential 2 week culturally based program that helps participants heal from grief, loss, and the effects of intergenerational trauma.

Fathers of Tradition / Mothers of Tradition

The White Bison created program helps participants acquire traditional parenting skills by gaining an understanding of the importance role modeling is to the next generation.

Wellbriety 12 Step program

The White Bison created program helps participants move through the 12 steps of recovery. Infused with Indigenous culture and utilizing the workbooks, group discussions and ceremony, participants learn the value of Walking the Red Road.

I am of the Land

A Sacred Turtle Woman Healing Centre created program that aims to help individuals connect to the land through hands-on experience. Indigenous land based teachings that center around respect, reciprocity, humility and responsibility. Participants will be given the opportunity to connect to the land, sky, and water through experiential learning.

Indigenous Employment Skills Training

Sacred Turtle Woman Healing Centre acknowledges the struggles people face when seeking employment and strives to limit the barriers that our residents may face. Online and in-person training specific to each individuals needs will be offered as well as resume construction, interview preparation, skill building, and work related workshops.
